Worlds Apart - 2020
"Worlds Apart" edits together the opening monologues of “The 11th hour with Brian WILLIAMS” on MSNBC and “Hannity” on Fox News in the week prior to the election.
Both shows often appear to be trying to push forward an agenda, rather than trying to inform viewers. For example, night after night Sean Hannity repeats the story that Biden is a corrupt politician, while Brian Williams focuses on the CoronaVirus, including how its poorly managed by Trump and his campaign. In addition, there is a risk that the shows only present facts that fit into stories that support their agenda, rather than building stories around facts. As a result, these programs are not full pictures of the world, and leave out crucial details. “Hannity” as an “opinion show” is much worse on this than “The 11th Hour”. For example, despite the worsening CoronaVirus pandemic, in the week leading up to the election Hannity only mentioned Covid 19 once, and only to claim that Biden is worrying about it too much. Though Brian Williams also leaves out stories covered by Hannity, it is hard to know if it’s because they’re false, or because they don’t fit his narrative. Sometimes when the facts don’t match the agenda it seems that Hannity just makes things up. For example, throughout the leadup to the campaign Hannity accused Biden of getting money from foregn governments while he was Vice President with no evidence-- something that has been proven false by every other major news outlet.
Holy Moses! - 2017
The Controversial Legacy of Robert Moses
Holy Moses!
19:40 - Documentary - 2016
Documentary about the controversial legacy of New York City urban planner Robert Moses (1888 - 1981). Robert Moses built NYC's parks, public works, such as Jones Beach and Lincoln Center, and most of New York’s bridges and tunnels. He made New York City what it is today -- but he had a dark side too. He tore down neighborhoods and displaced tens of thousands of people from their homes.
